Name: Isadora Faith Santos Nicknames: Isa, Faith (both primary nicknames) Dora occasionally. Age: 453, looks 34 Birthday: February 16, 1557 Species: Vampire Claiming Status: Currently, none Occupation: She'll be looking for a job upon returning to town.
Appearance: Isa is just shy of average height, standing at 5 feet and 4 inches tall, just small enough to appear harmless, but looks can be very deceiving. She has dark green eyes and long dark brown hair--almost black. Her skin tone is a dark tan. It's her features that make her look more menacing than her height, especially mixed with the darker tones. She's generally seen wearing a distasteful frown and is rarely ever seen laughing. The few who can make her laugh or even smile--genuinely smile--have seen her afeatures change suddenly. It is only then her eyes take on a brighter green and the smile can make even her skin tone appear lighter.
She generally wears classier clothing styles, not being one to ever be caught in anything that might make her look sloppy. Even then, her clothing style has some variety to it. She'll wear anything from a jacket and skirt (business attire) to form fitting, sexier clothes, depending on where she is going. Weather doesn't matter to her when it comes to dressing. PB: Idina Menzel
Personality:
Many first impressions of Isa are "unhinged" or bitch. Both of these descriptions are very true. While her insanity hasn't actually been confirmed by anyone with authority to say so, she comes off as very unstable and she quite enjoys this fact, which possibly proves just out not there she really is. She likes that people fear her, quite a bit. She likes being in control and she takes full advantage of this any time she can manage it. She enjoys torture.
She also enjoys causing pain. When killing or even just feeding, she's likely to make it slow and painful. The only thing she enjoys more than the expression of pain when her teeth sink into a victim is to actually look into their eyes when the pain starts. Because of this, she will often hurt them before feeding.
One of Isa's faults is that she's quick to anger and her temper can be very extreme at times. There have been people she went to feed on and she killed them much more quickly than she normally would only because they refused her. While this happens on occasion, it's not frequent however, as she is usually too enthralled by the distorted and pained expressions on the victims faces to become too angered.
If Isa doesn't like a person, she's very likely to say that out loud and as in insulting a way as possible. She won't hold back her opinions and there are often times she feels that her opinion is law and that everyone should agree with her opinion. She will also judge the sort of women who let their husbands control everything.
That's not to say that Isa is always a bitch, she just tends to be the majority of the time. When she is around select few people and they're not pissing her off, Isa can be more calm. She can joke around, she can be happy and she can even flirt. She can be a girl capable of having fun and enjoying herself, but it's overshadowed a lot by her bitchy side because most people just can't leave well enough alone, they have to anger her.
She has very few close relationships, though they do happen. They generally start with a human she "likes," though the term is used very loosely because the hatred she feels for humans taints that. If she "likes" them well enough to want to like them more, she will turn them. The most common reasons she has had for turning people are romantic feelings, sexual relationships, amusement or someone she feels she could be friends with if she could just take their disgusting humanity away.
She does, however, get very bored very easily and while at the time she might have liked her new vampire, she has been known to leave several of them behind. There are fewer of those that she has remained in contact with since turning them.
Her one human attachment that seems to bend all of her own rules is her several times great niece Raya. While family has never been all that important to her and she has had little-to-no contact with her family over the years, she finds herself drawn to Raya and tried to be around the girl as much as she could growing up. She's extremely protective of her and would hurt anyone who even tried to harm her without a second thought. Despite this, she isn't very good at displaying her emotions. Despite a genuine appreciation for the girl, she often uses terms and phrases when describe her that could make it sound like she doesn't like her very much.
Likes: Even as a human, she had a great interest in vampires. Drinking blood from unwilling people, torturing people, killing people, Raya Dislikes: Humans are at the top of this list, boredom and she gets bored so easy, people who mean harm to Raya, vampire hunters, her long deceased mother Strengths: She's very strong physically and she was even as a human. This could be attributed to her mother teaching her how to defend herself against vampires. She's gifted at using her thrall, though she enjoys unwilling victims more and rarely uses it. Weaknesses: Raya, the only relative and human she has ever genuinely liked, her attitude toward humans has a tendency to show rather quickly, which makes it harder for her to get people to trust her. She's very impulsive, which tends to give her bad results moreso than good ones. Feelings about Humans: She hates them. Even as a human she wasn't terribly fond of them, finding that she was far more interested in vampires. Once turned, that turned into full-blown hatred that even family couldn't get past. Raya is actually the only human she can stand. She actually really likes her niece, but she has trouble admitting that. She often uses terms that might demean her affection toward the girl, such as tolerate, not too bad, don't completely despise, but that's just her way of expressing that she means a lot to her. Whether or not Raya fully understands this is unknown to her.
History:
Isadora Faith Santos was born in Portugal, the middle child (out of five) to a vampire hunter mother and a father who was killed by vampires while her mother was still pregnant with their youngest child. The fact that he was killed only fueled the woman's anger even more toward vampires and she started more actively searching for as many as she could and killing them. This of course angered vampires who were close to the ones she had offed and more of them came to her town to attempt to get revenge.
Growing up, the Santos siblings were taught what to watch for when it came to vampires. They were told to be careful, and most of the siblings were. Isadora, however, only became more intrigued by them.
The older she got, the more trouble she started to cause. Her classmates were truly afraid of her and her teachers called her mother to the school on several occasions for her behavior. She had started to become very hateful toward her classmates, bullying them.
After leaving school, Isadora did marry and have two children, she pushed her dreams of becoming a vampire aside to focus on her family--a husband she tolerated and children she wasn't terribly sure how she felt about them. She wasn't a terribly great mother, though they had no major complaints. She would often forget to cook them dinner and her husband would have to take over. He actually picked up her slack quite often and it eventually caused fights between the two of them.
Just before she turned twenty-nine, he took the kids and left her. She wasn't terribly worried about it anyway. Her thoughts focused back on her desire to become a vampire and she began actively seeking them out, using her mother for that purpose saying that she wanted to be trained as a hunter.
It was just after her thirty-third birthday that she met Claude. She knew quickly that he was a vampire and she began dating him with the eventual goal of being turned into a vampire. In over a year of dating, however, Isa did genuinely begin to fall in love with him. When he offered to turn her, she accepted immediately.
Her mother had been watching their relationship for some time, waiting for any signs that he was going to try to turn or kill her daughter. By then, however, Isa kept her distance from her mother to keep her from figuring out what her intentions were. When Isa died, her mother went and killed Claude. Whether or not she knew for certain that Isa had been turned and would rise again is unknown and will remain that way, because after Isa came back and found that her precious sire was dead, she went and killed her own mother, her first fatal victim.
She left Portugal immediately and began traveling in, she'd return home on occasion to check up on some people and eventually turned her own best friend so that they could remain friends forever. The two are still on good terms and have contact with one another today.
In her travels, Isa went to went to Europe, Asia, Africa and eventually even North America. Her traveling was very erratic, going from one continent to another rather than spending a considerable amount of time exploring one continent before moving on. When descendants of her family lineage moved to Brazil, she began going to Brazil on occasion to keep an eye on them.
Over the years, she turned several people she had a tolerance for, humans that she felt she could actually like if they were vampires. This stemmed from several different reasons from romantic or sexual relationships to friendship. She might even turn someone just because they amused her. She turned her back on many of them, however, due to getting bored with them but she remains in close contact with some of them, the ones that didn't end up boring her.
A notable one was Falcon Kane, a purely sexual relationship that at the time she had felt she wouldn't give up for anything, so she turned him. She did, however, get bored with him as well and leave him, though a part of her has her regrets to this. She enjoyed him quite a bit when they were sleeping together.
She did manage to track him down from time to time, but kept her distance. She didn't need to show weakness, after all. Once she left him, her decision was final, or at least appeared to be final.
By the time her niece, Raya was born, Isa had been spending a lot of time in America, though she still traveled to other places on occasion. She found herself drawn to Raya, however, in ways she couldn't explain. This human child should feel terribly inadequate to her, but she still found herself frequently visiting her, despite her parents misgivings about her being around the child.
When Raya's parents had their accident, Isa had been living in Shadow Falls for some time. She left the town to take care of Raya while her mother was in the hospital, but when she never came out of it, she took the girl to Shadow Falls with her, wanting to be sure there was someone to keep an eye on her. As Raya was fourteen at the time, Isa knew that she would be safe for a couple of years. None of the vampire residents of the town could harm her. By the time the girl turned sixteen, she made it very clear that if any harm came to her niece, they would have to deal with her.
She remained in Shadow Falls until shortly after Raya's twentieth birthday, but the need to travel and a desire to track down and check up on Falcon got the better of her. She left Raya with the house, not sure if or when she would return to town. She kept in contact with Raya while she was gone, but she also ensured that she could keep tabs on her niece so that she would be able to return if needed, even if there was something Raya was unwilling to tell her herself. She also made it clear to the other vampires in town that she would return at a moment's notice if there was any trouble.
In light of recent events in town, Isa has decided to return to be sure that her niece, who was chosen to have a baby, would be well taken care of. |
